ABOUT the Godla’s
Kevin grew up in Slovakia and was saved as a teenager in the first ever Roma youth camp. It was there he met Dessa.
Dessa was a missionary kid to Slovakia and grew up in the country. They got married in 2019 and moved to the US. They have been blessed with two children over the last 5 years Eloise who is 3 and Jacob who is just 3 months old. Due to the pandemic they have only been able to go back to Slovakia once which means Eloise has only seen her family overseas one time. The kids are so excited to see their grandparents and cousins in Slovakia.
It has always been their passion early in their relationship to return to Slovakia one day as missionaries and do ministry. Kevin has been working on getting his License with Assemblies of God.
Kevin and Dessa will be serving as Missionary associates during their first term and will be working alongside John and Daralena Bean for 2 years.
The Roma people live mostly in poverty and are a marginalized people group found throughout the world but highly populated in Europe, especially Slovakia. They lack many essential resources which keep them in a never ending cycle of hopelessness, BUT GOD!
There has been a revival among the Roma people for the last 20 years! God has shown to be the cycle breaker! Once God comes into their lives, everything is transformed.
It is critical at this point in their walk with God they are discipled. We will be helping with both humanitarian and evangelical outreaches, church planting, leadership training and holistic teaching such as education, hygiene and health.
